Terms & Conditions

REDRESS STUDIO IS A PROFESSIONAL SEAMSTRESS BUSINESS THAT YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO CARRY OUT THE  AGREED ALTERATIONS FOR YOUR GARMENT TO ENSURE IT FITS PERFECTLY. IT IS IMPORTANT FOR BOTH PARTIES TO UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE WORK COMMENCES. IN ORDER TO SECURE YOUR FITTING AND WORK IN THE DIARY YOU WILL NEED TO CONFIRM THAT YOU ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

  1. The order for these works shall be accepted entirely at the discretion of Redress Studio and shall constitute a legally binding contract between us and you. The contract is hereafter referred to in these terms and conditions as the order. These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of english courts.

  2. After the date of the 1st fitting no responsibility can be accepted by Redress studio for and changes to the customers body shape,size or height. Any significant weight gain or loss may require additional alterations at your cost which can impact the desired fit and overall look of the garment. Extra fittings can be arranged if our schedule permits and charges applied accordingly.

  3. Redress Studio reserves the right to decline alterations if a bride is planning to lose weight after the first fitting. In such a case, a fitting date can be booked nearer to the wedding to allow for weight loss but only if there is space in the diary. This will be subject to a quick turnaround fee of  up to £150 in addition to the alterations balance. In the event the diary cannot accommodate we may recommend an alternative seamstress.

  4. Redress Studio are not liable for any weight fluctuations between fittings or after the dress has been collected. Measurements, photos and videos are documented at first and subsequent fittings to record keeping purposes. Each measurement taken can have up to a 2cm tolerance.

  5. To ensure that the alterations meet your expectations, you must attend ALL fittings. Fittings are by prior appointment only, as per the agreed schedule. If you are more than 15 minutes late you may be asked to reschedule your fitting for another day. Fittings are planned well in advance and time cannot be taken from another customer to accommodate a late arrival. Please inform immediately of any delays and cancellations.

  6. All Missed fittings are charged and not transferable. We need a minimum of 48 hours notice to move a fitting. If you are unwell on the day of the fitting please notify us by 10am so the time can be allocated to another customer.

  7. Redress Studio strongly advises for the exact shoes and undergarments to be brought to your fitting. Fittings may be refused if previously advised it necessary and this advice has not been followed.

  8. Once your garment is pinned and alterations are agreed by both parties, no further changes can be made without charge. Responsibility can not be taken for errors where pinning and measuring has not been undertaken by Redress Studio.

  9. Alterations are charged at a standard rate available on request. The initial estimate for services provided at the first fitting is approximate and subject to change on orders with complex or multiple alterations. Once works have commenced, services cannot be cancelled and payment in full will be due once the works are completed. Cancellation of services with Redress Studio can only be agreed and items returned where works have not commences on any item. All deposits are non-refundable.

  10. A  booking deposit is required to secure your bridal alterations appointments. Your appointments are not confirmed until payment has been received and is non-refundable if you cancel your appointment, fail to turn up on the day, or choose not to go ahead with alterations.

  11. A 50% non refundable deposit is required at your first fitting, unless you are using the express service where payment must already be made in full. This allows work to commence so that your garment is ready in time for the next fitting. All goods remain the property of Redress Studio until paid for un full. Payment is accepted by bank transfer or in cash. Final payment is to be paid on completion and you will be notified when your garment is ready.

  12. All persons signing the order of works from Redress Studio will be responsible for the stated terms and conditions of sale and payments and collection of goods ordered. The named person on the front of the order will be the only person able to collect the goods unless otherwise confirmed with Redress Studio in advance. The collector must confirm the client's full name, contact number and provide a letter of permissions.

  13. When accepting your estimate of the work you will be advised of your collection date/time. Please be advised this is an estimate and subject to change without prior notification.

  14. On signing the order at collection you will have deemed to have accepted the quality of the alteration before leaving the premises. Redress Studio will not be liable for any discrepancies subsequently discovered. Your garment will be thoroughly inspected on completion of the work specified, but it is essential that you try on and inspect the garment and are completely satisfied with the condition of the fit before taking it from the premises. If a garment is unacceptable to the customer due to the alterations not being carried out as agreed, we will rectify the work at our expense. Any item pinned by us will be altered to that exact agreement between the seamstress and the customer. Redress Studio is not liable to re-make or refund or replace an item if the customer is unhappy with the result. Redress Studio will charge for additional  alterations requested when the customer changes their mind. Redress Studio cannot guarantee appointment availability following collection.

  15. Redress Studio will make reasonable endeavours to resolve any dispute that occurs regarding the service or the terms and conditions. However the decision of Redress Studio is final.

  16. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

  17. We reserve the right to make changes to these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

  18. Redress Studio has a common law right to refuse service/entry to our premises to anyone we choose. We can terminate any contract before work has commenced.

  19. No responsibility or liability is assumed by Redress Studio for any damages that may occur to the garment once it has left our premises, caused by accident, misuse or mishandling by the customer.
