ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Claire and I moved to Crosby in Liverpool with my husband (who’s from Waterloo) in May 2021. We met while I was in my first fashion job at Burberry, and I spent the next 16 years working in London as a designer at various retailers on the high street such as New Look, River Island, M&S and Dorothy Perkins.

MY STORY

I’m originally from a small town in Warwickshire called Nuneaton and I studied Fashion Design at the University of Central England in Birmingham. I always wanted to be a fashion designer and remember making “catalogues” as a kid with my own fashion drawings and the help of a fashion wheel! Anyone remember them? While most students carried on with Fashion Design in the final year, I chose to specialise in Product Development and graduated with Honours in 2005. I was lucky enough to secure a job at Burberry during my final year and so shortly after graduating I moved to London.

At Burberry we would often study patterns in fittings to identify how and why a garment may not fit correctly. As with most high- fashion houses, the attention to fit was meticulous and this enabled me to take away an invaluable skill set that I have used in every job since. I think that's where my love of garment construction and fit really began and due to my perfectionist nature I’ve been obsessed ever since!

I’m completely obsessed with my little Frenchie, Bruce — my constant studio sidekick and partner in crime. He’s happiest when he’s eating or  off exploring, whether that’s sandy paws on the beach or snuffling through the forest. There’s just something about those little ears and big personality that makes every day brighter.

WHY WORK WITH ME?

So why choose me? Well, I am not your average seamstress, I am not just good with a needle and thread. I’m a designer with over 20 years’ experience in fashion, couture and product development. I trained at Burberry, I know what “properly made” means and I bring that level of detail and respect into every fitting.

But what really sets Redress Studio apart? It’s how you feel. The service I have created for you is personal, private and judgement-free. I work around your schedule. I listen closely. I bring ideas, honesty and a whole lot of calm to what can be a stressful part of planning. I don’t offer quick fixes for your big day. I always offer a creative partnership where your vision for your dress is treated with care, skill and proper craftsmanship.

Customer satisfaction is always my priority and I pride myself in the quality of my work and making you feel amazing!
